The Caveness House is named after its original owners, Corrina and Dr. Zebulon Caveness. Dr. Caveness commissioned architect H.P.S. Keller to design the house in 1914 and the Cavenesses moved into the house in 1916. The Caveness family lived in the house through 1984. On June 19, 1985 the Caveness House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
